My new camera (Zenit) and lenses (300mm) plus the magnificent comet Hale-Bopp stirred up my interest.

March 30th. Comet Hale-Bopp at all its glory. The line is an airplane that crossed my frame. This photo was taken with a 400mm lens @ f/10 and clearly shows the comet head. It is a 10min 20s piggyback exposure with a Fuji Super G 800 plus. New Scan

April 26th. A 2min exposure with a 300mm lens @ f/4.5 shows more of the tail. Again, this is a piggyback photo (the camera was mounted on a telescope tracking the stars), on Super G 800 negative film. New Scan

This is the sunset over the mountains. The sky was cloudy and this photo was taken directly through my Newtonian telescope (stopped down to just 45mm diameter) at 32x.
