My new camera (Zenit) and lenses (300mm) plus the magnificent
comet Hale-Bopp stirred up my interest.

March
30th. Comet Hale-Bopp at all its glory. The line is an airplane
that crossed my frame. This photo was taken with a 400mm lens
@ f/10 and clearly shows the comet head. It is a 10min 20s piggyback
exposure with a Fuji Super G 800 plus. New

April
26th. A 2min exposure with a 300mm lens @ f/4.5 shows more of
the tail. Again, this is a piggyback photo (the camera was mounted
on a telescope tracking the stars), on Super G 800 negative film.

Two filters were used : UV and O-2.8.

This
is the sunset over the mountains. The sky was cloudy and this
photo was taken directly through my Newtonian telescope (stopped
down to just 45mm diameter) at 32x.
